Tina
Puckett's natural handcrafted baskets and sculptures span over
twenty years of creative activity. Her choice of materials and form have
always been influenced by the bountiful variety nature has to offer. She
uses bittersweet, a vine that has yellow and red berries in the Fall and
is pliable only when freshly harvested. She combines it with fibers like
Danish cord, hemp, sea grass, reed and grapevine, incorporating her designs
into the natural shapes of her materials.
Tina mixes her own dyes and her strong sense of color shows in the subtle use
of dyed fibers to effect a more dynamic piece; and ultimately, a little bit
of "love" slips into the weaving of each piece...never to be retrieved.
